The Difference Between DIY Divorce and Online Divorce DIY Divorce

So if the title of this post has not confused you already, congratulations. The idea for this blog post came to me over the weekend when I was reading this article – Divorce Article.  Don’t worry too much about reading the whole thing, i’ll give you the jist of it here.

Basically its saying that in these tough economic times, more and more people are looking to utilise a DIY Divorce service to save money – however, the article argues, this is not always a good solution, as sometimes some basic errors can be made which result in the whole thing becoming actually more expensive – either by way of additional court fee’s or because a DIY Divorce does not automatically deal with ownership of assets etc.

This sums up exactly why I started Online Divorce – you see DIY divorce papers have been around for a while, but they really are full of loopholes, and they are a little tricky to complete properly. Part of the service we offer is making sure all your forms are completed correctly – because we actually do that for you, and making sure that they are served in court in the right way, avoiding a costly court fee and reappearance.

Another reason I started the company is I realised as much as I wanted to spread the good word about the advent of utilising the DIY divorce idea – it was not always right for every situation. We can provide that advice free of charge. Even if the DIY divorce package is not right for you, our managed divorce package might do the job which is still a bargain at just £169.

Its also worth making the differentiation that an online divorce is something different to a plain DIY divorce. A DIY divorce on its own is just filling out the paperwork and getting it processed. An online divorce, through us, means we do everything for you except sign the paperwork.

I hope I made everything a little clearer!! If not, then please do not hesitate to contact us!!!
