Cost of Divorce Puts Couples Off

I read with interest a story in the Birmingham Post this morning regarding the cost of legal advice and how it puts people off seeking advice in the first place. The report went onto say how 1000’s of people are not getting the justice or the support they need through failing to go and pay for correct legal advice.

Here at Online Divorce we have always included any legal advice needed in with the cost of our divorce packages. Clearly if the case is really complex and is beyond our scope – the sum of our legal advice would be to go and see a solicitor in the flesh. However, if you are thinking of getting a divorce but just do not know where to start to get things going – give us a call and we will be more than happy to help you.

You see, what is really important in the case of most divorces, is 2 things. Firstly, from a legal perspective, all the paperwork must be completed correctly – otherwise your divorce may be void, and you wil have to resubmit your divorce papers, resulting in there being more cost and time involved. Shameless self plug here, but again at Online Divorce, we include document checking as an integral part of our service.

Secondly, it is important that both parties are aware and can agree to who gets what. this extends far beyond the CD and DVD collection – if one of the couple just received a substantial bons from work, is the other member of the couple entitled to half or any of that bonus?

A lot of these matters are really black and white, but they are worth checking out.
